This class will enable you to write more substantial, well-sourced and timely articles about issues that matter and improve the speed and the quality of your journalism. The same principles and techniques can be applied to other professions.

To do the most important part of the job — reporting and writing — as quickly and efficiently as possible, as well as write compelling feature stories that might take weeks. How to do this? The tricks of digital journalism apply to anyone struggling to manage their information flow and get work done.

This 1-hour class pulls back the curtain on the most effective tools to structure your information flow, and a system to make it all work together, and then dives into techniques to make this work for you. We’ll cover everything from social media streams, RSS feeds and email, to organizing writing projects.

About Michael Coren

Michael Coren is a journalist based in San Francisco and co-founder of the newsroom and multimedia production house MajorPlanet Studios. He is a contributor to FastCompany, The Economist, Foreign Policy and other publications reporting on the intersection of science, economics, and the environment. He began his career at newspapers such as the San Jose Mercury News. He joined Cambodia’s Phnom Penh Post as a reporter and later became its managing editor after receiving a Luce Fellowship to report in Asia. Since then, he has served as the science and environment producer for CNN.com and earned an MESc focused on environmental economics from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
